Looking back on my previous bird carvings, my style has completely changed and evolved. With each new carving another layer of experience is added.
This is a large display of a family of Australian magpies that I did for my first art show in 2023. It consists of 2 adults and 2 babies. I wanted the display
to be worthy of the art exhibition and put a lot of effort into the carving of the wings and eyes.

Video is of one of the birds, so you can see the details up close. These birds that are pictured have been carved & painted much later, & will have better detail than the one in the video.

Two owls,
These were one of my first bird carvings. My style has changed a bit.

Some of the birds that I have carved in the past altogether. Early on, I would carve two birds, so I could make mistakes on one and perfect the next. These days I am more confident and usually don't need to have that trial run.
