Hello again,
Annoyingly the last few weeks I have been experiencing a lot of arthritic pain!
Even though the winter weather was unusually warmish, the days were unpredictable.
As I have arthritis all throughout my body I had a lot more pain in my spine & joints. I don't normally take a lot of medication but the anti-iinflammatories and cream were definitely taken & applied over this period.
Even though I am in more pain these days, surprisingly I am able to concentrate on my carving and painting, which is nice for a change.
I have been busy with some orders and with finishing up some of my half painted pieces & shaped dishes.
I finished painting the gumleaf & strawberry shaped dishes. The strawberry dishes came up really well and I love their colour. But the gumleaf shaped dishes were the more popular choice. And it looks as though I should carve some more of those as all but one dish has now been sold.

The chicken shaped dishes & magpies have had their base coats done.

Hopefully these magpies will be finished in the next couple of days, as the majority of painting has been done. I still have to make some feet, varnish & mount them. But thankfully that's all pretty easy now.

I even finished painting a few spoons which had been sitting half painted for ages

As I now have my bird cards in my online shop I thought that I would make a few to have in stock.
These cards were all stamped with a magpie, wren, or Williewagtail stamps that I had previously carved.

Thankfully the weather is warming up now and it is starting to feel like spring is in the air with magpies nesting, honeyeaters collecting nesting material & lizards out sunning themselves.
I have had an annoying and worrying noise above my head in the workshop the last couple of months. I kept hearing something disturbing the insulation in the roof just above my head.... a rubbing, slithering sound. I really didn't want to have an encounter of any kind with it. So I left it alone and thought if I didn't bother it, it wouldn't bother me. That is if it didn't fall through the insulation onto my lap!!
One sunny day I heard the creature venturing further outside, well I hope it was heading outside! So I went out to investigate and found out who was actually making that slithering sound in my workshop roof space. It wasn't what I thought it may have been..... a snake! But a rather large Cunningham skink. He came out and basked in the sun on the carport roof. I heard him leave and went out to investigate and saw him quite happily sunning himself. As you would expect I was extremely relieved to see that it wasn't actually a snake in the roof!
I don't know what i would have done if it dropped down inside my shed!
However, I suspect we will see the dreaded Brown snakes soon as the weather warms up more. And the dead sticks & garden hoses will look like snakes.
Thankfully snakes tend not to hang around here too much but just travel through.
But we have several types of skinks & lizards like this bearded dragon sunning himself on a pile of fallen branches. Guess we will be leaving that pile there now!

Even the goat is unusually content and enjoying the abundan.ce of food and more hours of sunshine at the moment.

Well that's all from me,
Keep on creating
Theresa 🌸
